2023 Year In Review

As the year comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to look back and reflect on all that we’ve accomplished in 2023. It was an exciting year with milestones, technology advancements, key partnerships, and some welcomed recognition. Here are the highlights:

First and foremost, FanCompass continues to expand its footprint over the sports landscape. Experiencing unprecedented growth, FC CORE technology is now in use across 14 leagues in addition to servicing several multi-property Enterprise partnerships that allow for revenue generation at both the league or ownership group level, as well as at the club level. We also saw substantial growth from our Sponsorship team, activating four times as many brands this year as last, including notable names like DraftKings and Knorr

With all this customer growth comes the responsibility of continued support and innovation. We started on the product side by releasing a new digital activation tool (Spin•the•Wheel), making several backend product enhancements, and developing two major tech integrations, one with HubSpot and the other with KORE

Next, we hit the road to network and support our team and league customers at multiple industry events, including vendor showcases for both the AHL and ECHL, the USL Summer Showcase and Winter Meetings, the MiLB Fall and Winter Meetings, and international soccer event of the year, Soccerex Miami. Along the way, we uncovered a deep need for our technology and services among the expansion team community. We answered that need by developing an adaptable expansion playbook for our USL expansion teams to help emerging teams fill stadium seats and establish a strong and engaged fanbase before they ever hit the pitch.

We also continued our efforts to support the future of the business of sport through our year-round internship program. This year, we mentored a record number of interns through the program, hosting 14 interns from 4 different universities across the country, and are already preparing to welcome a new class in January.

All of these efforts culminated in the crowning jewel of 2023 as FanCompass was recognized as part of the Sports Business Journal’s list of Power Players: Fan Experience Technology. What an honor!

All in all, it was a pretty fantastic year. A big thank you to all of our customers and partners who make it all worthwhile.
