Summer 2025

As another busy summer comes to a close, our Summer 2025 interns are finishing up their time with FanCompass and preparing to return to campus. This group brought the energy and hard world that helped make the summer both productive and fun! We’ve enjoyed getting to work alongside them and are grateful for the impact they made during their time here.

As always, we asked our interns to share about their time and experience at FanCompass, and we’re happy to share their reflections with you in our latest Intern Blog.

“My summer at FanCompass has been a rewarding and eye-opening experience. From day one, I felt trusted to take ownership of meaningful projects, whether developing creative campaign ideas, tracking performance metrics, or presenting industry research to the team. Working closely with the Customer Success team and under the mentorship of Aaron Mendle, I learned not just about the digital sports industry but also how to adapt quickly, communicate effectively, and think with both a creative and analytical lens. The guidance and feedback I received pushed me to grow more confident in my ideas and challenged me to think strategically in new ways. I’m especially grateful for the supportive, collaborative environment where feedback was always constructive and every contribution felt valued. This internship has strengthened my skills and given me a clearer vision for where I want to take my career in the future.”

“My internship at FanCompass has been such a rewarding and eye-opening experience. I had the chance to work hands-on with data at both the team and league level, analyzing campaign performance metrics and sharing insights that could actually make an impact. Through this work, I realized just how important it is for teams and sponsors to gather fan data and collect leads; it’s a critical piece in driving engagement, building relationships, and creating value in the sports business world. The company’s culture made a huge difference for me! The company allowed me to grow professionally, analytically, and creatively. One of my favorite parts was getting to know and work with such a great group of people, from the employees at FanCompass to my fellow interns. This experience gave me a new perspective on the sports industry and opened my eyes to the many career paths it offers, all while giving me practical skills and relationships I’ll carry forward.”

Zachary Schuler- University of Michigan

“As I wrap up my internship at FanCompass, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone at the company for making me feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to be myself in a professional environment. From day one, the culture at FanCompass stood out, fostering an atmosphere where my voice was heard, my work was meaningful, and my contributions as an intern were truly appreciated. I’m especially thankful to Angie Johnston for her exceptional mentorship throughout the summer. Her guidance and support, whether I was drafting social media posts, creating newsletters, or diving into broader marketing strategies, were instrumental in my learning. She also provided invaluable insight into the sales and marketing landscape that I will carry with me as I pursue a career in sport marketing. Additionally, I’m incredibly grateful to Jamie for coordinating a shadowing opportunity with the Hub City Spartanburgers, which gave me firsthand exposure to the practical side of the industry and helped solidify my career interests. As I return to school to complete my senior year, I do so with a clearer understanding of my path in Sport Marketing and a deep appreciation for the time I spent with the FanCompass team. This experience has been truly rewarding, and I would not trade the last three months for anything! Thank you all once again for an unforgettable summer!”

Tawny Strotz- Wake Forest University

“As I head into my junior year at Wake Forest, I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity I had to intern with FanCompass this summer. As a Sponsorship and Sales Intern, I gained hands-on experience in the sports industry while learning the ins and outs of sponsorship strategy, sales outreach, and digital fan engagement. The FanCompass team immediately made me feel like a valued member of the organization, and their guidance and support helped me grow both professionally and personally. From researching brand partnerships to assisting with live campaign activations, I walked away with a deeper understanding of how innovation and creativity come together in sports marketing. I'm excited to carry these experiences forward and can't thank FanCompass enough for such an impactful summer.”
