Summer 2024

As summer winds down, our Summer 2024 interns are wrapping up an exciting few months with the FanCompass team. This group jumped right in from day one, bringing creativity, dedication, and fresh perspectives that made a real impact during their time with us. We’re thankful for all their hard work this summer and look forward to seeing where their paths take them next.

As always, we asked our interns to share a few words about their time and experience at FanCompass, and we’re happy to share their reflections with you in our latest Intern Blog. Enjoy!

Cora Bainbridge- University of South Carolina

“As I reflect on my time at FanCompass, there is one word that summarizes my entire experience: fun. A small and simple word that can perfectly describe my experience with this large and extraordinary company. My joy comes from writing, and as a member of the marketing division, the majority of my job was writing. However, the growth that I have made in my writing skills is thanks largely to the support I garnered from the marketing team. They were so supportive in allowing me to take on different projects from different angles, while also helping me to break out of my engrained journalistic boundaries and be creative through the lens of sport business. These past four months have introduced me to the sporting world in the best way possible. I was able to work with great people, grow, write different material that was read by hundreds of people, and, best of all, have fun. The experiences that I gained during my time as a summer 2024 intern for FanCompass are experiences that I will probably be talking about for years to come. Thank you, FanCompass, for a comprehensive internship that I had never imagined being a part of. Here’s to many more explosive years in the industry, more league-wide partnership deals, and 10 million entries!”

Colin Horan- University of South Carolina

“My time with FanCompass this summer was nothing short of a wonderful experience, and gave me countless opportunities to grow personally and professionally. Working with FanCompass brought me to the forefront of innovation in sports technology, data, and partnerships. From day one, FanCompass’ world-class culture is apparent and brings together a level of cohesion and teamwork not often found in a virtual setting. Working primarily with the sponsorship division, I was able to be an active part in bringing sponsors to a variety of teams and leagues, as well as generating reports and analyzing data that is used by clients to gauge the success of their partnerships, with the goal of generating higher revenue and levels of fan engagement. The position also gave me lots of opportunities to advance myself professionally, as I was able to network with a wide variety of industry partners, improve my communication skills, and employ concepts learned in the classroom onto real-world situations. Never once did I feel like an insignificant member of the team, and those with much more knowledge and experience than I never failed to offer help or insight. I am so thankful I made the great choice of joining FanCompass this summer, and the lessons I take away from this experience will be invaluable as I enter the professional world of sports.”

“As my summer internship with FanCompass comes to an end, I am filled with immense gratitude for the valuable knowledge and experience that I have acquired during my short time here. When I began the internship program, my only hopes were to gain hands-on experience in the sport industry and deepen my understanding of the fan engagement realm. I can confidently say that my time at FanCompass has not only fulfilled these goals but has also exceeded all my expectations, significantly contributing to both my personal and professional growth.The team at FanCompass played an integral role in my journey. Their guidance, support, and unwavering commitment to innovation were truly inspiring. I am deeply grateful for the mentorship I received, and for the collaborative environment that encouraged me to think critically and creatively. A huge shout out to the entire CST Team - Aaron, Ellie, and Gage - for presenting new challenges and learning opportunities each day that helped me to grow in my role. During my time with FanCompass, I have had the privilege of witnessing significant company milestones, including the signing of new league partnerships and reaching 2,000,000 users across the engine!! The continued success of FanCompass is a testament to not only the hard work and dedication of its employees but also to the positive company culture that has supported my own development throughout this program. As I continue on with my professional endeavors, I’ll carry the knowledge and insights gained during this internship, along with the connections I’ve made with these incredible individuals. My hope is that all future FanCompass interns, who are fortunate enough to step into these roles, will take full advantage of the opportunities presented to them, just as I have been able to do.”
